Walmart Dividend 2026–2027: Fiscal Dates and Split Guide

Research cutoff: September 13, 2026. Dollar amounts are USD per common share unless stated otherwise. This guide separates declared payments, calculations and unannounced future decisions.

Walmart has approved a $0.99 dividend for fiscal 2027, payable in four $0.2475 installments. Three payable dates fall in calendar 2026 and the fourth is January 4, 2027. Fiscal 2027 is not the same period as January–December 2027.

Walmart’s declared fiscal-2027 payment schedule

Walmart’s quarterly filing for July 31, 2026 reproduces the approved schedule below. The amount is an announced fiscal-year distribution, not our forecast. The filing states that the April and May installments were paid as scheduled; its reporting date predates the September installment.

Fiscal-2027 installments, all $0.2475 per common share
Record date Payable date Calendar year
March 20, 2026 April 6, 2026 2026
May 8, 2026 May 26, 2026 2026
August 21, 2026 September 8, 2026 2026
December 11, 2026 January 4, 2027 2027

The three 2026 installments in this particular schedule total $0.7425 per share. That is not a complete calendar-2026 ledger, because a payment belonging to the previous fiscal schedule falls outside this table. The already announced January 2027 installment is $0.2475, or $24.75 for 100 qualifying shares. It is not four quarters of calendar-2027 income.

Avoid the two most common Walmart calculation errors

First, do not round $0.2475 to $0.25 before multiplication. Four exact installments total $0.99, not $1.00. For 1,000 eligible shares, the difference is $10. Second, organize a calendar-income budget by payable date rather than the fiscal label attached to a press release. These small distinctions prevent a financial-year announcement from being counted twice.

The full four-installment fiscal amount produces $99 gross for 100 shares eligible throughout that schedule. The actual net deposit may differ because of withholding, fees or changes in holdings. A record date identifies the issuer’s ownership cutoff; it should not be substituted for a separately verified market ex-dividend date when considering a transaction.

What can be projected for calendar 2027?

Calendar-2027 scenarios with the declared January installment
Remaining-year assumption Annual per share 100 eligible shares
January $0.2475 plus three unchanged installments $0.99 $99
January $0.2475 plus three hypothetical $0.26 installments $1.0275 $102.75
January $0.2475 plus three hypothetical $0.23 installments $0.9375 $93.75

Only the January installment is anchored to the reviewed announced schedule. The other payments, amounts and timing are assumptions, not Walmart guidance. These scenarios illustrate sensitivity rather than a guaranteed floor. The next fiscal declaration must be reviewed before upgrading any remaining calendar-2027 amount from illustrative to declared.

How we assess the retail cash engine

For Walmart, our framework distinguishes essential merchandise demand from the profitability of serving that demand. Sales volume alone does not reveal the effects of product mix, labor, delivery expense or inventory management. Membership, advertising and other activities should be assessed alongside the core retail business without assuming their economics are identical.

Review recurring cash after store, supply-chain and technology investment. Compare inventory growth with sales and inspect whether cash improved because suppliers were paid later. A payment-timing benefit may reverse. Also examine distributions and repurchases together: a board can change the balance between them even when the total shareholder-return budget remains similar.

Walmart stock splits and annual “bonus” expectations

Use Walmart’s official split history to identify actual past corporate actions and the basis of historical per-share data. A past split is not a fiscal-year cash distribution. No new 2026 or 2027 split ratio or share-distribution date is verified in this guide, so none is included in the income schedule.

After a hypothetical 3-for-1 split, 30 old shares become 90 and the theoretical price per share is one-third as large. The same adjustment principle applies to historical dividend comparisons. Receiving additional units is not the same as receiving spendable cash or a larger proportional claim on the business.

Frequently asked questions

Is Walmart’s $0.99 wholly payable during calendar 2027?

No. The declared fiscal-2027 schedule spans April 2026 through January 2027.

Is the January 4, 2027 payment merely a forecast?

No. It is part of the schedule reported in the reviewed company filing.
