Research cutoff: September 13, 2026. Dollar amounts are USD per common share unless stated otherwise. This guide separates declared payments, calculations and unannounced future decisions.
Bank of America declared a $0.32 common-stock dividend payable September 25, 2026, up from $0.28. The latest rate annualizes to $1.28, but that is not the confirmed calendar 2026 total. A 2027 income forecast must remain conditional on new board declarations.
BAC 2026 common-stock dividend dates
The bank’s first-quarter notice, second-quarter notice and July 24 regulatory filing support these dates. September 25 is still a future payable date at the research cutoff. It belongs in declared future cash, not cash already received.

| Declaration | Record | Payment | Per share |
|---|---|---|---|
| February 3, 2026 | March 6, 2026 | March 27, 2026 | $0.28 |
| April 23, 2026 | June 5, 2026 | June 26, 2026 | $0.28 |
| July 24, 2026 | September 4, 2026 | September 25, 2026 | $0.32 |
The three listed declarations total $0.88 per share. Of that, the two payment dates before the cutoff account for $0.56 and the September declaration for $0.32. For 100 qualifying common shares these are $56 and $32 respectively. A possible final-year distribution is not an announced fact in this guide.
What changed with the 32-cent rate?
The increase is four cents per quarter. Relative to 28 cents, that is approximately 14.29%; the issuer rounds its headline increase to 14%. For 100 eligible shares the added cash is $4 per payment. The distinction between a percentage and its dollar effect matters when comparing income stocks with different prices and starting payouts.
If a fourth 2026 payment were declared at $0.32, the four-payment total would be $1.20, because the first two were lower. Four equal $0.32 distributions would instead be $1.28. Keep a calendar ledger and an annualized current-rate figure in different fields, so a prospective comparison is not mistaken for actual income.
2027 dividend scenarios for BAC
On a small screen, swipe the table horizontally. Keyboard users can focus the table region and use the arrow keys.
| Assumed payments | Annual per share | 100 eligible shares |
|---|---|---|
| Four × $0.32 | $1.28 | $128 |
| Two × $0.32 plus two × hypothetical $0.35 | $1.34 | $134 |
| Four × hypothetical $0.28 | $1.12 | $112 |
The higher and lower rates are sensitivities with no assigned probabilities. A dividend can be changed or suspended, so none of these amounts is a guaranteed floor. At an illustrative $50 share price, the unchanged $1.28 case would imply 2.56% indicated yield. The price is not a live quotation, fair-value estimate or purchase recommendation.
What could strengthen or weaken the outlook?
Our BAC framework connects net interest income to deposit costs, the repricing of loans and securities, and the quality of credit. A larger loan book can increase revenue while also requiring more capital and creating future losses. Check whether recurring earnings and capital generation support both the dividend and completed repurchases through less favorable conditions.
The July capital-distribution filing identifies regulatory capital requirements as a condition for distributions. That makes a forecast based solely on this year’s dividend-growth percentage incomplete. Compare the relevant capital ratio with its actual requirement, examine the direction of risk-weighted assets and distinguish balance-sheet liquidity from distributable common equity. Do not import a generic industrial-company cash-flow screen into a bank analysis.
Common shares, preferred shares and stock splits
BAC news releases can list multiple securities. A $1.75 preferred-stock dividend is not a $1.75 payment on ordinary BAC shares. Security names, ticker suffixes and depositary-share ratios matter. A high quoted preferred yield does not describe the income or voting rights of the common stock reviewed here.
The official split history lists the 2004 Bank of America 2-for-1 split and separate NationsBank andNCNB histories. It gives August 27, 2004 as the distribution date and August 30 as the ex-date. This is historical evidence, not a 2026 or 2027 split notice. We do not assign a future split ratio, deadline or bonus-share entitlement.
In a hypothetical 2-for-1 event, 100 shares become 200 while the theoretical price halves. Compare dividends on the same adjusted basis; an apparent drop in dividend per share after a split need not be an economic dividend cut. A buyback, by contrast, does not automatically credit additional shares to every remaining holder.
