Research cutoff: September 13, 2026. Dollar amounts are USD per common share unless stated otherwise. This guide separates declared payments, calculations and unannounced future decisions.
Alphabet’s latest verified common-stock dividend is $0.22 per share, payable September 14, 2026. Four unchanged payments would total $0.88 under a 2027 scenario, not an announced annual commitment. Preferred-stock distributions in the same release must not be assigned to GOOG or GOOGL.
Verified 2026 common-stock declarations
The first-quarter results release reports an April 27 declaration raising the quarterly dividend from $0.21 to $0.22. The second-quarter release records another $0.22 declaration in July. The table intentionally covers these two verified declarations rather than claiming to be a complete calendar-year payment ledger.

| Declaration | Record date | Payable date | Per share |
|---|---|---|---|
| April 27, 2026 | June 8, 2026 | June 15, 2026 | $0.22 |
| July 2026 | September 7, 2026 | September 14, 2026 | $0.22 |
These two amounts total $0.44 per share, or $44 for 100 shares eligible for both. September’s payable date is after the research cutoff. This two-payment sum is neither the full 2026 dividend total nor evidence that all the cash has already reached investors. The four-cent annual increase implied by four payments at $0.22 instead of $0.21 is an annualized comparison.
GOOG, GOOGL and preferred shares are not interchangeable
The common-stock declaration covers Classes A, B and C. Alphabet’s July release also announces separate dividends for mandatory convertible preferred stock and related depositary shares. Those are different securities. A larger amount appearing elsewhere in the release should not be copied into a GOOG or GOOGL income calculator.
Equal cash amounts do not establish identical voting rights or market prices. When comparing two classes, use the price of the actual security being evaluated as the yield denominator. Also confirm that a data service has not mixed preferred-share and common-share histories. A surprisingly high yield can be a mapping error rather than an attractive new opportunity.
Alphabet dividend scenarios for calendar 2027

| Assumed payments | Annual per share | 100 eligible shares |
|---|---|---|
| Four at $0.22 | $0.88 | $88 |
| Two at $0.22, two at hypothetical $0.23 | $0.90 | $90 |
| Four at hypothetical $0.20 | $0.80 | $80 |
The alternative rates are sensitivity inputs, not predictions of a board decision. At a hypothetical $250 common-share price, $0.88 divided by $250 gives a 0.352% indicated yield. This is not a live quote. An increase that begins late in a year produces less calendar income than the same rate applied to every quarter.
What matters beyond a small headline yield?
Our capital-allocation review asks whether recurring operating cash can support investment, acquisitions, repurchases and dividends together. Advertising demand and cloud economics are useful operating inputs, while infrastructure commitments determine how much cash remains after expansion. Reported net income should not be treated as interchangeable with cash generated by the operating business.
For a company making large technology investments, inspect the timing of equipment spending and the treatment of depreciation. A change in an accounting estimate can move profit without an equal immediate movement in cash. Also examine share count: repurchases that offset employee issuance have a different per-share effect from a sustained net reduction. Neither observation alone establishes a buy or sell recommendation.
Alphabet’s historical 20-for-1 split and future rumors
Alphabet’s February 2022 announcement described a 20-for-1 split structured as a one-time stock dividend, with 19 additional same-class shares per original share and a planned July distribution subject to shareholder approval. The historical proposal is not a new 2026 or 2027 entitlement. This guide verifies no new split announcement for those years.
A stock dividend used to implement a split changes the number of ownership units. Cash dividends transfer cash. A hypothetical 10-share position becomes 200 shares in a 20-for-1 operation, while its theoretical value is unchanged before market movements. Compare historical per-share figures on the same adjusted basis and do not count the additional units as investment profit.
Frequently asked questions
Is $0.88 Alphabet’s guaranteed 2027 dividend?
No. It assumes four board-approved payments at the current verified rate.
Why not use the preferred dividend for GOOGL?
Because preferred and common shares are separate securities with different terms.
